STAINED AND DISCOLOURED TEETH TREATMENT

Why Tooth Discolouration Matters

The way your teeth look can have a big effect on your confidence. When stains make you hide your smile, the right treatment can help you feel good about it again.

Discolouration ranges from mild yellowing to darker grey or brown shades, depending on whether the cause is on the surface or inside the tooth.

Understanding the Causes of Tooth Stains

Stains fall into two groups: extrinsic stains on the outer enamel, and intrinsic stains inside the tooth.

Extrinsic stains often come from coffee, tea, red wine, certain foods or tobacco, and plaque build-up can make them worse.

Intrinsic stains can be caused by injury to a tooth, thinning enamel with age, some medications or too much fluoride in childhood.
